Hiromitsu Kitayama 北山宏光, the sensational J-Pop crooner formerly of the popular group Kis-My-Ft2, is back in the limelight with his latest solo masterpiece, “BET”. The digital single, released on February 23, 2024, 12:00AM JST is the third by Kitayama on the TOBE music label.
“BET” brings a mellow, pop-infused R&B/jazz vibe to the forefront. Kitayama’s previous solo singles “RANSHIN” and “JOKER” possess an edgy hard rock component so “BET” is a particularly fascinating track as it showcases Kitayama’s versatility musically and as a vocalist.
Behind the poignant lyrics of “BET” is none other than SHIROSE from WHITE JAM, who not only penned the emotive verses but also lent his compositional prowess alongside Ra-U.
The music video was choreographed by Sway Co., Ltd. with the assistance of Sachi. Renowned video director Zumi (Soichi Nakazumi 中角壮一) directed the captivating visuals for the song which capture a variety of enchanting group choreography alternating with scenes of Kitayama embroiled in a high stakes card game and other contests associated with gambling.
