Their latest creation is a ground breaking, emotionally charged song and composition titled “Wishing” featuring the vocal stylings of Joshua Elyashiv. “Wishing” is a brilliantly-penned song that contains a thought-provoking concept which conceives a wealth of poignant lyricism.
The soundscape of “Wishing” is backed by a wistful, introspective instrumentation that is led by a melodic acoustic guitar riff throughout. It’s somewhat ominous as the lyrics flow across it, but ultimately “Wishing” is a song that provides a beacon of hope.
‘Wishing” was borne as a reaction to the losses that the members of SHIV suffered due to the tragic events of the October attacks in Israel which has sparked a war that is still raging over six months later.
“Wishing” is a social commentary which laments how quick people are to engage in violence or actions of war when attempting to quell conflict. SHIV longs for the day when war becomes nothing more than a passing thought in the world. The devastating effects of war is typically unseen on a wider scale by the general public, but in reality, war destroys the fabric of communities, particularly their children.
