Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri, 24-year old recording artist Chig the Hardest carries a distinct approach to his artistry. Chig has a goal in mind to impact the masses around the world with his music. He goes on to explain in further detail that he’s “trying change and touch the world with a new wave of bright and inspiring music.”
With that said, the young emerging artist has dropped a new track fittingly titled “Happy Days’, a trap hip-hop banger that features a hybrid rap/singing flow by Chig that’s unique in delivery and presentation. Chig’s vocals extremely expressive, particularly in his vocal inflections, and he carries out the concept of the track in a dynamic manner; switching up his tone and cadence to match the emotion of the lyrical content.
So the theme of “Happy Days” actually carries a more profound meaning than what you would expect from the title. Although it has an uplifting message and mystique, Chig shares that the song “is about Happy Days to come while moving out of a deep dark depression phase while being mentally unstable, but with an intelligent mind”.
Very empowering concept and bold of Chig to tackle the subject matter in a track, however, he pulls it off with an upbeat vocal performance brimming over with positivity. As I mentioned before, Chig’s one-of-kind flow is riding a banging hip-hop trap beat replete with a prominent drum section and a booming 808/bass line supplying the low end.
Add in a theatrical, epic-style chord progression, and you have all the elements of a song that’s sure to hit music listeners resoundingly.
