Frequent collaborators Jboz and Au Perry connect again and kick off the month of May with their EP, “A Different Place.” The six-track EP, released through Get Home Safe., gives listeners different sounds and takes listeners on a musical journey. The EP is chock-full of fresh, captivating beats and thought-provoking, resonating lyrics.

“A Different Place” EP gets started with the titular song, “A Different Place.” The record has a Playboi Carti or Yeat type of beat and catchy chorus. The song seemingly is aimed at a love interest. Track two, “Odyssey,” is a melodic song that has a vulnerable feel to it and touches on topics such as growth, evolution, and resiliency. The song has a motivational tone while maintaining mainstream appeal. The next track, “Seasons,” continues the themes that were within “Odyssey,” but has a purer Hip-Hop/Rap sound, particularly during the verse at around the 1:40 mark. “Seasons” really showcases the duo’s lyrical prowess, and it comes at the best time as it feels like the perfect theme song for the NBA playoffs. “Aura” is up next. “Aura” is a sleek, radio-ready jam that has hard-hitting lyrics. The song is definitely one that must be played with speakers on at full blast. The penultimate record, “Elevated,” has a unique sounding beat and gripping hook. “Revival” is the EP’s closer. The song is a great closer as the fade out serves as a curtain call for an immaculate EP by Jboz & Au Perry.

The iconic duo never disappoints whenever they link and release. “A Different Place” is no exception, and they give the fans what they want. The rising stars continue to demonstrate that they are forces to be reckoned with and have cemented their place in the music industry.
