Lagos, Nigeria has been the source of a bevy of talented musicians and recording artists to explode onto the global music scene and another prime example of that is the rapidly emerging Afrobeat artist Wiztom. The Lagos native brings a distinct style to the Afrobeat genre which features a dynamic fusion of pop, R&B and elements of dancehall reggae which makes for a wonderful amalgamation of sounds in his music.

Wiztom amplifies the appeal of his music with a smooth, silky vocal delivery that captures your listening senses immediately as he exhibits a penchant for creating catchy melodies that he expresses with a magnetic vibrancy on each track he graces. Channeling the vibes of some of his musical influences such as Afrobeat luminaries Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy and Wande Coal, Wiztom has cultivated a unique style that has driven his burgeoning career as a recording artist having released a number of singles, an EP and his latest effort, a spectacular single titled “Pain”.

Wiztom

“Pain” exemplifies all the tenets of an Afrobeat smash from the eclectic worldly rhythms and drum patterns to the enthralling melodic phrases of the instrumentation which have an innate danceability to them. The track also contains an ambient phrase that adds an ethereal, cinematic aura to the song overall…it follows along in step harmoniously with the other elements in the song. You can’t help but engage some part of your body as you take in the soundscape of “Pain” and feed off the aural energy that Wiztom brings to the fold with a standout vocal performance.

Wiztom injects an illuminating tone into the track that embellishes all the quality points of the song that I’ve outlined above. His delivery is expressive, and he projects the emotion behind the lyrical content extremely well with an unmistakable genuineness.

“Pain” is available on all streaming platforms (Spotify link below). Make sure to stream it on repeat, playlist it and save it to your Favorites Library for quick access. Share it on your socials as well! Also, below you will find the full-length lyrics to “Pain” so you can sing along with the vibes.

While you’re on Wiztom’s profile, make sure to check out the other dazzling selections in his expanding catalog of music. Enjoy!
