Four young men from Texas have set out to turn the rock music scene upside down with a stimulating fusion of quintessential rock dosed with a smashmouth heavy rock edge and undertones of metal. They call themselves Kenton Place (vocalist/guitarist Logan Smalley (Smalls), drummer Noe Hernandez (Fez), lead guitarist Roque Techera (Rock, the hero), and bass guitarist Curtis Bird (Mr. Bird)), and their name has exploded to well-deserved prominence since their emergence on the scene in just 2018.

The Kenton Place stock has soared in the eyes and ears of music lovers, critics, and industry pros alike as the band has collaborated with a variety of industry heavyweights (Grammy Award-winning producer Ted Jensen, Ulrich Wild, Ken Stringfellow, Derrick McKinney, to name a few). They garnered significant radio airplay and have chalked up substantial streaming numbers across the various platforms. Kenton Place has also etched itself a lofty reputation with an extensive performance history that has seen them touch the stages at several noted venues, festivals, and events across the country.

Kenton Place - Pride Never Lasts

Kenton Place continues their rapid ascension in the music landscape with the release of their debut EP, “Terminal,” a collection of five balls of fire tracks featuring a remixed and remastered version of their 2019 groundbreaking single “Pride Never Lasts” – a provocative song and composition that implores us to mentally let go of circumstances or past events that may hold back our progression in life.

Lead guitarist Roque Techera shares his perspective that, “Pride Never Lasts brings the whole EP together. It’s about letting go of everything you’re holding onto.

“Pride Never Lasts” is an example of the raw, kinetic energy that you can expect from the Terminal EP. The unfiltered emotion and expression that comes out of these songs are not only projected in the gripping lyrical content and concepts but the hard-nosed, grinding musicality and production that it possesses magnify the intensity of each song on this album, particularly on our other personal standouts “Haley’s Comet” and “Roses on the Wall”.

The collection of surging guitars emanates across the soundscape with just the right touch of distortion and wah. The high-powered sonics immediately inject excitement into your listening senses as the sweeping guitar sections are pooled with an equally potent grouping of robust drums and pulsating bass lines. The instrumentation on the Terminal EP takes on a monumental presence as you steep yourself in each song….embellished by the dynamic vocal performance of Smalls, which can fluctuate without a hitch from a commanding baritone to a high pitched, piercing wail.

Overall, “Pride Never Lasts” is a track you need to get familiar with and will definitely get a charge out of. It’s available on all streaming platforms (Spotify link below). Stream the entire EP, playlist the tracks and save them to your Favorites Library so you can blast them on repeat! Share the EP on your social media feeds and stories as well.
