2009 | The TV series Jonas, starring the Jonas Brothers, debuted on the Disney Channel on which it ran for two seasons. |
1995 | Pink Floyd’s album The Wall rose to Diamond status surpassing sales of over 10 million in the United States. It later eclipses (oh wait, wrong album) that total with sales of well over 20 million. |
1998 | Living Colour’s debut album, Vivid was released. |
1979 | The Who played their first concert following the death of drummer Keith Moon (Kenney Jones of Faces replaced him). The performance took place at the Rainbow Theatre in London. |
1974 | Stevie Wonder won four Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year for Innervisions. |
1972 | Bruce Springsteen auditioned for Columbia Records’ John Hammond, who was the same exec that signed Bob Dylan. |
1960 | Dick Clark testified before Congress on the controversial matter of payola. |
