Describing what sparked the making of “Cry at Night”, Shawnsosaucy shares that “I was just in a dreamy kind of mood, and I was expressing my feelings one night I wanted to make a song I can just vibe to and just feel in a different way“.
The song carries a distinct vibe as a whole driven by its pulsating kick drum and 80’s-retro type pads and oscillating synths which form the core melodies and instrumentation of the song. It’s an ambient, mystical type of aura that creates quite a compelling soundscape. The sonics and production stand out with such a pristine sound design and crisp tone.
