New York born rapper and producer Cardo Loot brings a distinct style and vibe to the table that distinguishes him from the pack of aspiring artists out there today. Cardo has crafted a flourishing catalog of music since his arrival on the hip-hop scene, including a large selection of boommode singles and a full-length album release in 2020, War and Peace.

Today we’re going to spotlight one of the many bangers on this LP titled “When”, a tremendous track that captures the essence of Cardo’s signature style. “When” possesses a booming presence that is driven by a brooding 808 and bassline that shower the track with low end sonics which bump with an undeniable potency. Accompanied by a rhythmic clap-covered snare and an incredible abstract melody, the instrumentation of “When” is off the charts. I don’t know exactly what instrument the abstract sound is, but the melodic phrase is constant throughout the track, and it adds an out of this dimension type mystique to the song.
Cardo shoulders the weight of the red-hot beat in grand fashion as he attacks the mic with a commanding vocal performance, projecting a cool self-assuredness that makes it easy to gravitate to the song and zone in on every bar that he utters. Another distinguishing factor in Cardo’s baritone flow is his ability to seamlessly shift his cadence and tone in line with the lyrical content he’s speaking on while staying on point, flow wise and timing with the instrumental. He is also a producer that has tapped into the market while drawing inspiration from people like, Kanye West, Pharell, Metro Boomin, TM88. His Hispanic roots has also tied into drawing inspiration from Spanish reggaetón producers in the name of Tainy, and more.
