About ‘YOSHIKI SUPERSTAR PROJECT X’

Produced by YOSHIKI, ‘YOSHIKI SUPERSTAR PROJECT X’ is an audition show searching for groundbreaking bands and boy groups who can conquer the world. The audition began in February 2022, with high-profile guest judges from Japan and around the world including KISS star Gene Simmons, world-class soprano singer Sarah Brightman, Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ choreographer Travis Payne and unique vocalist HYDE. The project’s unusual twists on the audition show format have generated a huge amount of buzz on social media. Just as four band members had been decided and the group was preparing for a 2022 debut, vocalist YOSHI passed away suddenly aged 19. With the powerful support of YOSHI’s family, two new vocalists were recruited and auditions went ahead. A fierce battle for the chance to debut unfolded, and in February 2023, a total of 13 band members and dance-vocal members stepped into the spotlight as XY.
