Burgeoning singer, songwriter and producer Buzzane is a recording artist who brings a unique vision to her artistry. Influenced heavily by R&B and soul music during her formative years, she has cultivated a distinct sound which is infused with an ear-catching blend of hip-hop, R&B, soul and pop. It’s an inimitable sound that she has displayed prominently in such recent singles as Melancholy Day and This Ride.

Also of note, Buzzane possesses a warm, engaging vocal delivery which has a subtle charm and charisma to it. Her voice is intrinsically soulful and upon hearing her vocal dynamics, you quickly gain an understanding that she is an artist on a rapid trajectory upwards in the music industry.

Now that we’ve established the talents and skillset Buzzane is working with, we’re going to spotlight her latest single, a grooving hip-hop/R&B track titled “Monster” which she wrote and produced. The track has a jazzy swing to it driven by a funky keyboard phrase throughout, melodic computerized background vocals and an extremely rhythmic bassline. The soundscape overall just seems to float as the various components of the instrumentation are so smoothly laid down, particularly, when it breaks down in the bridge.

Now this all poses quite the enigma as you may be deceived by what a title like “Monster” connotates, however, Buzzane cleverly conveys an enlightening message in the lyricism and concept of the song. She explains, “the song is based on real-life monsters that enjoy the demise of innocent souls for their own benefit while moonlighting as their soulmate”.

Intriguing for sure! And it makes you run the track back repeatedly as certain lines hit you differently each time you run through the song. In my mind, the song symbolizes how people operate in a “sheep in wolf’s clothing mentality” and in some respects, we may all possess some of these traits, however, those who progress in life shed these tendencies and have the ability to conduct themselves accordingly.

“Monster” is an exceptionally written and composed song and it also incorporates a feature by rapper Mr. Goodbarz. The beaming songbird delivery by Buzzane projects a magnetic appeal and it’s the perfect segue into Mr. Goodbarz’ deep-toned rap flow. This is a track primed to resonate with music listeners and tastemakers equally.

Lyrics for “Monster” by Buzzane

[Verse1]
Zombies wanted your brain
Never wanted your heart, heart
Why you’re becoming heartless
What made you so bloodthirsty
[Pre-Chorus]
That’s so yesterday
You’re better than that
At least the one I knew before
You’re so corny
People know you know you were good
At least you used to be
[Chorus]
Monster
Monster
M-o-n-s-t-e-r
We’re all becoming monsters
Monster
Monster
M-o-n-s-t-e-r
We’re all becoming monsters
Ooh Ooh
[Rap]
For The people who don’t love honesty
Destroy the seeds of love and Break down Olive tree
True to ourselves many souls filled with sorrow
Yesterday isn’t me so I’m planning out tomorrow
Hearts can be broken the moments hurt your whole soul
Standing up for truth I’m here just to Break the mold
Money and pollution we searching for solutions
Knowledge is one of the jewels I think people losing it
Destroying common sense and living life non logically
I live every day knowing this monster is a part of me
We all have a major turning point in our lives
The key to all pain is the empathy In eyes
I know you sick of lies, see the problems on a rise
Release the stress with a sigh, keep my mind on the prize
Understandin’ will appear when your brain wants to fly
With close mind thinking you can free the monster side
[Pre-Chorus]
That’s so yesterday
You’re better than that
At least the one I knew before
You’re so corny
People know you know you were good
At least you used to be
[Chorus]
Monster
Monster
M-o-n-s-t-e-r
We’re all becoming monsters
Monster
Monster
M-o-n-s-t-e-r
We’re all becoming monsters
