Vermont-born singer and songwriter Jacob Rice is a rapidly emerging recording artist who has put together a prolific year of music, having released three singles and a 10-track album Demo Days, to date. The talented creative, who is now based in Tennessee, has crafted a blossoming portfolio of tracks carrying his distinct blend of country and pop music. Jacob’s repertoire also displays his penchant for creating songs that have a “feel-good” vibe and a lyricism that comes off as scintillating and witty.
That brings us to Jacob’s latest release, a song titled “How a Man Treats a Lady,” which is the lead single off of his upcoming EP release slated for August, Whatever Floats Your Boat. “How a Man Treats a Lady” is a light-hearted, coyly suggestive song that touches on the theme of Jacob expressing his romantic intentions to a woman he’s interested in dating. He delivers the lyricism with expressiveness and zeal that illustrates the concept of the song exceptionally well. Whether he’s conveying romantic sentiments or injecting a bit of humor into making his case for love, Jacob paints a vivid picture for the listener with his perfectly timed vocal inflections.
Hey, no one wants to cheer on a relationship coming to an end, but the high-spirited way Jacob presents it actually has you rooting for him as you hope the woman comes to her senses and ditches the other guy for him. Seems like a fit for a movie on the Hallmark Channel, hint, hint.
