Brad Urba is a singer-songwriter and producer from Maryland and Oregon whose artistry boldly defies and leaps over the boundaries of any categorization in a particular genre. The multi-genre recording artist has established his music eclecticism with a style that embraces the unconventional and ultimately seeks to create quality music that’s relatable and will resonate with music listeners on a mass level.
Brad has expounded his creative spark into songs in the country, rock, pop, and hip-hop space while also unveiling music that is a masterful fusion of any of the aforementioned genres…Brad is truly an example of versatility personified as a recording artist, and he has crafted an incredible discography to date with his avant-garde approach. His music is an astounding listening experience accentuated by his expressive and heartfelt vocal delivery, extremely soul-stirring in a word.
Ironically, Brad’s early path to music began as he wrote poetry from a young age, and that eventually advanced into songwriting and freestyle rapping as he grew up listening to rap for the most part, and those influences compelled him to start converting his poetry into rap songs. Brad developed his skills tenfold and went on to actually open up for a number of prominent names in the rap game, including KRS-One, E-40, and Chingy, to name a few.
It wasn’t until 2017, however, that Brad would come to fully realize his musical destiny. The epiphany arrived as he and his wife attended the Stagecoach Music Festival in the Coachella Valley, and after viewing a number of pop and country performers that he enjoyed, Brad got the inkling that he could possibly write songs in those genres as well that fans of the styles would gravitate to. Not only had he expanded his music repertoire exponentially, but he also discovered his passion for singing.
Once Brad set out on this unique path to freely create music from his heart and shun the limitations of conforming to a specific sound, his brand flourished in a grand fashion. The dynamic creative went on to pen his first country record, “Cheers To More Love,” and followed it up with an equally spectacular pop track titled “Let Me In”, both songs were released to critical acclaim and have been well-received, including other standouts such as “Regular Joe”, “Sunshine” and the gritty rock tune “Somebody, Somehow”.
It’s also important to point out that Brad’s newfound artistry not only enhanced his stature as a recording artist but it amplified the breadth of his productions as his tracks have earned a variety of placements in television and films, such as Californication and Limitless, while also garnering several selections in commercials.
Brad Urba is a perfect example of an artist who possesses a dynamic skill set and/or interests in creating multiple genres of music that hey, one can thrive in this industry by remaining true to yourself and creating music that comes to your mind. Don’t be afraid to step outside of the box, as staying inside can stunt your growth as an artist as well as cheat listeners out of awesome music.
