DaPhatMack is a rapper and recording artist from Texas that sets out to defy your everyday understanding of what an emcee is. He brings a distinct skillset and lyricism to the game that’s profound in its content and gritty in its delivery; ultimately, his flow hits you with a zealous dose of authenticity that draws you into his signature raw and unconventional rap style.
His tracks charge full steam ahead and hold back nothing as they are known to touch on a bevy of topics. DaPhatMack’s unfiltered style meshes extremely well with the dark,brooding, yet alluring soundscapes that have come to define many of the productions behind his music. Cryptic melodies and ominous chord progressions form into a rhythmic palette that drive the raw appeal of a typical DaPhatMack track and he brings us some more of that live and direct flavor in his latest release “MNS”.
‘MNS” bangs hard from the outset and it lines up with the hard-nosed theme of the song that is written from the perspective of a person who’s essentially fed up with society and what’s going on in the world and is unabashedly ranting their thoughts on these matters without any concern for how they’re viewed or conforming to a particular standard. I view it as something like, take these words for what it is…these are my thoughts. Love it or hate it, this is how I feel!
DaPhatMack carries that mystique to “MNS” in a no holds barred vocal performance that projects an overt IDGAF vibe. The appealing factors of the song are driven by a combination of DaPhatMack’s aggressive tone and contrasting nature of the lyrics which are full of profound social commentary and coy references which throw you for a loop.
I deem it as lyrical wizardry at its finest in that while the lyrics contain a substantial amount of profanity, it’s by no means just an artist being simplistic on a track, I believe that the DaPhatMack masterfully utilizes the profanity and thought-provoking lyrics to express the level in which a person can verbally lash out once they’ve reached the boiling point but yet, don’t let the aggression take away from the enlightening message.
DaPhatMack expresses a similar sentiment as he shares, “I hope people don’t take “MNS” as a general nod to the simple language used in the track but more as a motif and inspiration to all walks of life when they hit that moment when they ultimately say F everything while also laughing at the touches of humor deliberately snuck in as undertones and blatant disregard for being politically correct.“
