The City of Brotherly Love has produced a massive number of musical talents across a variety of genres over the years and its latest product making waves in the industry is Philly hip-hop and R&B recording artist Kilo Smith. Kilo first stepped on the scene in 2018 with his debut project A Heart That Once Bled, a 12-track benchmark standard of an album which features standout tracks such as “No Hard Feelings” and “Roll With Me”.
While the debut project put Kilo’s signature melodic rap/R&B vocal flow on full display, it was only scratching the surface of all that the immensely talented recording artist brings to the table as he has stormed into 2022 with a big tyme single titled “Throw It 2 Me”. “Throw It 2 Me” has gained a lot of traction in industry circles and with music listeners since its release and is an illustrative example of Kilo’s vocal mastery.
“Throw It 2 Me” is produced by Ron Exotic and also features the vocal stylings of Rock$tar Toolie. The instrumentation possesses a brilliant mesh of the contemporary hip-hop trap elements and an extremely soulful, rhythmic underlying melody and phrasing which get you in a jamming mode with each note you hear. The low end sonics boom the soundscape with a presence and the keyboard chord progressions contain a musicality that accentuate the catchy hook section and ensuing vocal delivery by Kilo that distinguishes itself with a spitfire, commanding tone.
Kilo’s vocals project a type of charisma that gravitates you to the song as you take in his lyrical prowess; a no-doubt performance in which he scorches the mic into glowing embers….and hey, as we said before, it’s also a treat when you hear the grandiose sonics. This track has all the components of a commercially successful track and is another notch in Kilo’s expanding catalog.
