Miko Reed has immersed herself in music from an early age, encompassing an expansive background as a multi-instrumentalist, an evolution into a singer/performer and honing a passion for her artistry via earning a Bachelor’s degree in visual and performing arts. With this wide-ranging exposure to music and the arts, it is no surprise that Miko would pursue a career in music and her journey thus far has been a flourishing excursion that’s been eclectic and extremely prolific.

Miko has performed with numerous groups, on stage and in studio, in a wide-ranging spectrum of genres such as jazz, R&B, reggae, gospel, blues, funk and contemporary Top 40 and has also been a part of various theatrical productions, including work as a back-up singer to Grammy and Dove Award-winning recording artists Rebecca St. James, Keith & Kristyn Getty, and Brenton Brown. Miko has channeled this wealth of musical experience in building a thriving career as a recording artist and she has officially announced that a new single is on the way sometime in June titled “Back to that Day”.

“Back to that Day” is a magnificent song and composition that features the diverse amalgamation of sounds that have come to define Miko’s music. It is a harmoniously grooving listening experience that is composed of elements of retro-soul, R&B, jazz and funk. The soundscape is a wondrous compilation of rhythmic live instrumentation that is graced with the rich, mezzo-soprano vocal stylings of Miko; lush vocals that resonate in their tonality and expression.

“Back to that Day” touches on a very relatable subject matter of reflecting back on the “honeymoon” stage of a romantic relationship…those early days where everything is golden with a couple and then the ensuant complacency that tends to develop through the course of everyday life. “Back to that Day” serves as a celebration of love as its messaging implores us to focus on why we came together with our significant other…think back to those days for a refreshing reminder of how valuable that person is to you.

Mark your mental calendars! “Back to that Day” will be available on all streaming platforms sometime in early June. Once it’s available make sure to stream it and save it to your Favorites Library!
