Emmanuel Alexis, better known professionally as HD57 The Ninjah, is a young hip-hop recording artist, producer and musician out of Trinidad & Tobago who is redefining the standard of excellence in the industry with his eclectic stylings that skillfully blend elements of the old-school with the glossy contemporary sound of hip-hop today. It’s an avant-garde sound that HD labels as “gold school”. As you listen further, you’ll come to understand though, that it really encompasses a multitude of genres and styles that influences HD’s artistry. The 24-year-old phenom has established himself as a bona fide force in the hip-hop game over the years as he has worked with or performed alongside a variety of prominent artists/producers such as Hopsin, Elephant Man, Popcaan, Desiigner and Yosoy Armada and Solomon Childs of Wu-Tang Clan fame.

HD brings his quick witted, lyrical samurai rap style to a new single titled “Study Me” which is accompanied by a riveting music video that gets an A+ on cinematography, direction, choreography and the pure boommode vibes that it brings…but let’s dive into the song itself first. “Study Me” is a certified banger in all respects. The instrumentation pounds the soundscape with an authoritative presence. Its booming low end is destined to rattle any unsuspecting person’s speaker system or headphones. The bass pulsates hard while a head-nodding piano riff and melody will undeniably get some part of your body moving. Production on the song is top-notch and HD’s vocal delivery goes above and beyond in meeting the energy of the track.

HD literally flows as if his voice was a metaphorical ninja as he seamlessly flips words, shifts cadence and bounces across the track in an electrifying manner, even injecting some dancehall patois lingo into the mix as he torches the mic with an unforgettable vocal performance. His deep baritone projects boldly on the track and sets the stage for a song that’s sure to resonate with music listeners across the globe. You’ll definitely find yourself randomly refraining the catchy chorus, “Study me, study me, I don’t know why you be studying who?….”

So, hey!, what’s a boommode track, without an equally first-rate music video?!? The “blazing” factor for “Study Me” ranks off the charts once you catch a glimpse of the charged-up music video (YouTube link below). The concept of the visuals is cleverly captured in a classroom/school grounds setting….study me!….and is driven by a humorous intro accentuated with a charismatic performance by HD while his classmates engage in a series of choreographed group dances incorporated into a typical day of school. Brilliant job all around.
