However, despite getting ready for tour, which is said to take three to four years with its kickoff in April 2022, confirmation on his sixth album has been released and is under production. His manager, Stuart Camp, announced that “The material is there and it won’t be another four-year wait.” He continued stating that “Ed already knows what the next album is. He’s already got a track-listing for it, and I will get that changed over the next twelve months… Ed writes so many songs, and he wants to get them out, he doesn’t want them just sitting on his hard drive.”

It’s always fun keeping up with your favorite artists — as you grow and change, so do they, and things they sing about take on a deeper meaning.
One of my favorite artists I kept track of during my high school and college years was Ed Sheeran, everybody’s favorite ginger, the “Perfect” and “Bad Habits” singer. But I, like so many my age that teeter between Millennials and Gen. Z, knew him as “The A Team” or “Lego House” singer from his very first studio album back in 2011.
As time went on, as Sheeran’s talent began getting recognized and more albums produced, the world fell in love with him, so it’s no surprise that when he finally released his fifth new album, the world went crazy. And right now, everyone is rightfully soaking up “=!” I mean, it’s already #1 in the UK!

So while we sit and take in the perfection that is “=” and watch his SNL performance on countless times, we can be rest assured that there is more to come. I mean, when you think of it, it’s really no surprise that Ed would have a surplus of unreleased music—writing is in his blood.
