Travis Scott has been sued by two fans who suffered injuries resulting from the deadly crowd surge at the Astroworld Festival on Friday.

Eight people were killed in the incident as they were caught in an inescapable crowd surge that occurred while Scott was performing at the festival held at NRG Park in Houston.

One of the plaintiffs, Manuel Souza, claims he was left with “serious bodily injuries when the uncontrolled crowd at the concert knocked him to the ground and trampled him”.

Souza filed a lawsuit against Scott and several other entities including Scott’s Cactus Jack Records, officials at Live Nation and ScoreMore.

He is reportedly seeking at least $1 million in compensatory damages and is seeking a temporary restraining order to prevent any possible destruction of evidence.

The lawsuit states that tragically, due to Defendants’ motivation for profit at the expense of concertgoers’ health and safety, and due to their encouragement of violence, at least 8 people lost their lives and scores of others were injured at what was supposed to be a night of fun. Plaintiff’s injuries were the inevitable and predictable result of Defendants’ conscious disregard of the extreme risks of harm to concertgoers that had been escalating since hours earlier.”

The other claimant is named Kristian Parades and he claims that he was “severely injured” in the crush, which maintains was the result of the “negligence, carelessness and recklessness” of the defendants named in his lawsuit, which include Scott, Drake, and Live Nation officials, among others.

Parades further states in the lawsuit that Drake should be held accountable as well as he “helped incite the crowd” and he and Scott both continued the performance “as the crowd increasingly became out of control”.

He is also seeking $1 million in damages for his injuries, in addition to the the costs he has and will incur due to medical bills and an impending jury trial.

Scott or his representatives have not commented on the lawsuit as yet. He has already withdrawn from his headlining slot at the Day N Vegas Festival on November 13 as sources close to the rapper maintain that he’s “too distraught” to perform. Sources also claim that Scott intends to provide full refunds to all Astroworld ticketholders.
