About the 2021 Music Video Award Nominees
The artist with the most nominations this year is pop megastar Justin Bieber who has collected a total of seven nominations, including three in the top categories for Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Best Pop.
Beiber also stars in the music video for the DJ Khaled and Drake track “Popstar”, which is nominated for Video of the Year and Best Direction.
“Peaches” is up for Best Collaboration, Best Pop, and Best Editing while the visuals for “Holy”, featuring Chance the Rapper, garnered a nomination in the Best Cinematography category.
Megan Thee Stallion comes in as the next most-nominated artist with six, most of them attributed to her feature on Cardi B’s smash track “WAP”, which is up for Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Best Hip-Hop.
Megan is also nominated for Artist of the Year, and ironically she will have to compete against herself in the Best Hip-Hop category, which she also received a nomination for her feature on Lil Baby’s “On Me”.
A number of artists are tied for third with five nominations. This illustrious group includes Doja Cat herself, BTS, Billie Eilish, Drake, Lil Nas X and Olivia Rodrigo.
