4nzek is a Philadelphia based producer who has released more than forty multi-genre tracks that incorporate elements of a variety of electronic dance music styles.

Describing himself as a “genre-alchemist”, 4nzek’s innovative production style has incorporated such dance sub-genres as electro house, dubstep, trap, drum & bass and progressive house to name a few.

Today, we’re going to highlight and review three recent releases by 4nzek which showcase the distinct sound and ingenuity which characterizes his music.

These one of a kind tracks are titled “Chasing Stars”, “The Tempest” and “You Can Find Me”.

Chasing Stars

“Chasing Stars” is a phenomenal track. I was blown away with the array of mood shifts, transitions, out of this world drops and perfectly placed buildups.

4nzek displayed a knack for feeling out the progression of a song and did a brilliant job on the arrangement.

It’s also very evident that the dynamic producer has a keen sense of sound design.

The various electronic elements were tweaked just right and presented an overall outstanding composition. “Chasing Stars” is 4-plus minutes of production excellence.

It was almost like a set of different smaller songs combined into one story as the dreamy female vocals he incorporated put the track through the roof.

The Tempest

“The Tempest” is an eight minute musical journey into a mashup of several sub genres of EDM infused with a layering of emo elements.

It’s typically a challenge for a track of that length to maintain interest without becoming repetitive and monotonous in certain parts, but 4nzek met and exceeded the challenge.

He once again showed a great ear for time and place within a song with his masterful arrangement.

Listening you almost get the sense you’re listening to a DJ set as the transitions were frequent and unpredictable yet not just placed in for transition sake.

Each mood shift fit within the concept of the composition seamlessly.

I was particularly impressed with the sound design on the saw element as it sounded so wide and enormous.

It added an aura of potency to the track.

You Can Find Me ft. YoungDumbs

This is an awesome downtempo track/ballad. It’s a perfect example of 4nzek’s adept production skills as it’s a polar opposite of the previous two we’ve discussed.

He did another tremendous job with the intricate sound design and choice of instrumentation….even incorporating violins in this one.

I thought that really added a symphonic mystique to the song.

In addition, the interpolated male and female vocal parts complemented each other very well and set a tone for the track.

The vocal parts have just the right amount of reverb on them creating a large, spacial vocal presence.

Very memorable as they hauntingly bellow “You can find me….”

The arrangement on the composition was top notch staying in line with how 4nzek approaches each production placing several mood shifts throughout the song.
