Ingrooves Music Group Names Liz Morentin Head of Marketing and Communications

Music industry veteran Liz Morentin has been named head of marketing and communications for independent music marketing services and distribution company Ingrooves Music Group. In the newly created role, Morentin will oversee brand marketing and communications as well as internal, external and B2B communications for the company.

Elbow frontman Guy Garvey says the way artists are paid for audio streams is “threatening the future of music”. “That sounds very dramatic,” he told MPs, “but if musicians can’t afford to pay the rent… we haven’t got tomorrow’s music in place.” The musician was giving evidence to a DCMS Committee inquiry into the streaming music market.

Neil Young seems to have dropped his legal suit against Donald Trump for using his music at campaign events. In August, the singer and songwriter finally sued the Trump 2020 campaign for copyright infringement after the president repeatedly ignored calls from the rocker to stop using his music at events, which he said gave people the incorrect idea that he supports the Republican’s agenda.
