Interview

We really enjoy your latest single “Climate”. The track is an awesome fusion of dancehall and afrobeats. How did the concept of “Climate” come about? Is a video in the works?

My newest single Climate is all about having a good time. It depicts the tropical vibes of Jamaican culture mixed with Afro influences.

You have worked with a number of noted artists as a producer. Please tell us some of the names you have worked with? Any artist(s) you’d like to collaborate with that you haven’t yet?

I have worked with Burna Boy , Vybz Kartel , Toots And The Maytals, Sizzla , Lisa Mercedez, Teetimus. These are are just a few names that I have worked with over the years. Ultimately, I would love to do collaborations with Chris Brown , Sean Paul, Drake and other mainstream artists.

Please describe your typical creative process when you’re putting together a track.

My music is always made with good vibes, high energy and fun! I always try to have fun with my projects because I ultimately want everyone to enjoy listening to it.

How has your style evolved from your earliest releases to now?

Learning more about musical techniques and technicalities has improved my sound throughout the years. A

As a result of that I’ve become more inspired to do more and explore with different sounds and genres outside of Jamaican culture.

Please tell us about the God Complex EP you released late last year. What inspired the title? What are your favorite tunes from the 8-track project?

“God Complex“ was inspired by the bold evolution of my sound. My favorite songs off the EP are Grateful, Dxme Pxece, It’s You and $tuntin. I’ve released music videos for “Grateful” and “Aright” so far.

During these unprecedented times with a worldwide pandemic and social unrest dominating the headlines, what are some things you do to remain positive and focused?

Despite the global pandemic I stay focused on the betterment of my craft, networking and learning more about the music business.

What would you say has been the most rewarding moment of your career thus far, as an artist or producer?

As an artist my most rewarding moment was getting to do a song with my Grampa “Toots”. As a producer, having the opportunity to work on projects and see people dance to them and hear them on the radio etc. is most rewarding to me.

What do you have planned on the music landscape for the rest of 2020 or early 2021?

Due to the pandemic I didn’t get to properly promote “God Complex EP” so I will continue to do so into the upcoming year with more music videos, tours, merchandise etc.
