Brandy & Monica Streams Catapult Over 20 Million After Their Verzuz Battle

The record-setting viewership for Brandy and Monica‘s Verzuz battle created an incredible spike in the two singers’ streaming counts after the event.
Between August 31 and September 2, Brandy and Monica registered almost 22 million on-demand streams in the U.S. amongst the songs in their extensive catalogs.
The surge in streams resulted in an increase of almost 250% from the R&B songstresses’ streaming count prior to the event.
Of those estimated 22 million streams, Monica’s catalog registered 11.2 million plays and Brandy’s logged 10.9 streams.
Within the surge of streams, Monica’s new single “Trenches” featuring Lil Baby led the pack with 1.2 million U.S. on-demand streams.
Their Verzuz showdown on August 31 drew 1.2 million simultaneous viewers at its pinnacle.
That is the highest recorded among the series’ clashes thus far.
Prior to that, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott held the viewership record, with an estimated 750,000 fans logging on to check out their contest on May 9.
