The 2020 iHeartRadio Music Awards was officially canceled yesterday, Monday, August 24.

The award ceremony was originally scheduled to take place on March 29 in Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium and was to be hosted by R&B icon Usher.

Despite the disappointing news, fans can take solace in that the award winners will still be announced.

The award announcements will be broadcast over the Labor Day weekend (September 4-7) on 840 iHeartRadio stations across the country and via iHeart’s social media platforms.

The announcements will will even include acceptance speeches from some of the award recipients.

Billie Eilish and Shawn Mendes lead the pack of this year’s top iHeart nominees with seven nominations each, while Taylor Swift and Camila Cabello notched six each respectively.

This year was meant to be a homecoming of the iHearts Awards to the legendary Shrine Auditorium.

It was the site of the first two iHeart shows in 2014 and 2015.

However, in response limiting the growing spread of COVID-19, the live event was postponed on March 16.

As the world recovers and adjusts to life post-pandemic, you can expect to view next year’s live ceremony of the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards on FOX in all it’s glory.
