▶️ 1967 : Jimi Hendrix released “Purple Haze” in the U.K.
▶️ 1968 : The Bee Gees made their first appearance on American TV when they appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show.
▶️ 1975 : Cher appeared on the cover of TIME magazine.
▶️ 1978 : Legendary rock band U2 (at the time, a high school band) won the Limerick Civic Week Pop ’78 talent competition. The victory earned them about $1,000 and a chance to record a demo for CBS Records.
▶️ 2003 : On the first episode of MTV’s practical joke program Punk’d, host Ashton Kutcher staged a prank involving the IRS that made Justin Timberlake cry.
