This noted quote from the 1800’s still rings true today and probably centuries upon centuries before the statement was ever uttered.
Music has always had a unique way of crossing language, cultural and geographic barriers.
What do you think about that….and this statement?
An example of how this statement rings true is that an artist can perform in a country where most of the audience doesn’t speak a word of the artist’s native language….
BUT….. the music has touched them in a way that it doesn’t even matter.
In fact, in some cases, the artist’s songs may be the ONLY words they know of the other language. FASCINATING!
Prime example, 1974, artists like James Brown and the Fania All-Stars performed for over 80,000 eager fans in French-speaking Zaire.
