Joe Jackson, recognizing the potential in his brood, brought together his sons to form ‘The Jackson 5’ in 1964.

It was, however, the 1982 album “Thriller” that immortalized Jackson in music history. ‘Thriller’ was more than just an album – it was a cultural event. It went on to become the best-selling album of all time, featuring timeless hits like “Beat It”, “Billie Jean”, and “Thriller”. The iconic music videos for these songs transformed the way music was consumed and celebrated, establishing MTV as a cultural cornerstone.
Jackson’s music was not just about unforgettable melodies or pioneering music videos; it was about pushing boundaries and breaking barriers. He became a symbol of African American success, and his music often touched upon themes of racial unity, as evidenced in songs like “Black or White”.
Throughout the ’80s and ’90s, Jackson kept his momentum with successful albums like “Bad”, “Dangerous”, and “HIStory”. Each of these albums produced numerous chart-topping singles and added to his ever-growing list of accolades. They also demonstrated his willingness to address more complex and social issues, like environmental conservation in “Earth Song” and the media’s intrusiveness in “Leave Me Alone”.
Jackson’s performances were nothing short of mesmerizing. His dancing was as much a part of his identity as his singing. The Moonwalk, his signature dance move, remains one of the most iconic dance steps
in pop culture. His live concerts were electrifying experiences, a testament to his exceptional talent and commitment to his craft.
Despite the controversies and legal issues that plagued his later years, Michael Jackson’s legacy as an artist remains untarnished. He gave the world timeless music, redefined the music video, and set a new standard for live performances. He was an artist who constantly pushed boundaries and reshaped the landscape of pop culture.
