Harry Styles has claimed the title of the richest British celebrity aged 30 and under for the first time, according to the heat Rich List, an annual guide to the UK and Ireland’s richest young stars.

The former One Direction chart topper made his debut on the list way back in 2016 and has now broken through the £100m barrier amassing £116m to replace 31-year-old Ed Sheeran in top spot.

It follows the success of his album Harry’s House, which spent six weeks at the top of the UK charts and its lead single As It Was, which topped the US Billboard chart for a whopping 15 weeks. This success is backed by starring roles in major films Don’t Worry Darling and My Policeman and his growing prominence as a style icon with Gucci endorsements and skincare and nail varnish ranges. If rumours of a mega-money deal with Marvel Studios are true, then expect Harry’s star to continue to rise and rise.

The Top Ten

Dua Lipa has also enjoyed a strong rise in this year’s rankings jumping from eighth last year to the number two position with £69.1m as she continues to ride the wave of popularity of her second album backed by an ongoing world tour alongside a whole host of endorsements from the likes of Versace, Evian and Puma.

Model Cara Delevingne moves up two spots on last year in third place with £63.8m. Her iconic looks continue to be a strong pull for her modelling career working with brands such as Burberry, Rimmel, Chanel and Puma alongside her burgeoning acting career and other business interests. Niall Horan sits in fourth position with earnings of £58.4m from two radio-friendly albums, which puts him ahead his fellow former bandmates Louis Tomlinson (£48.3m), Liam Payne (£47.4m) and Zayn Malik (£38m).

Singer Sam Smith (£37.8m) sits in eighth place in this year’s list ahead of Star Wars actors Daisy Ridley (£36.1m) and John Boyega (£28.8m) who round out the top ten. Rapper Stormzy, meanwhile, may have just missed out on a place in the top 10 but his pledge to give £10m away in the next decade and £500k to fund university scholarships for disadvantaged students is enough to rank him as the third most charitable star (of any age) behind Sir Elton John and Martin Lewis.

New entries and Love Island riches

Notable new entries this year include 21st-placed Geordie singer-songwriter Sam Fender with £10m after the success of second album Seventeen Going Under put him narrowly ahead of Charli XCX at £9.2m.

A trio of former Love Island contestants also make their debuts with Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury (26th, £6.5m) reaping the benefits of Molly-Mae’s PrettyLittleThing partnership, self-tan range and haircare company to cement her position as the most successful contestant from the show ever. The 2019 winner Amber Gill rounds out the top 30 while new Love Island presenter Maya James (29th,£5.3m) is another new addition to the rankings

From this year’s Love Island contestants Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu fiery relationship with Davide Sanclimenti has seen her land several lucrative deals including a £1m partnership with Oh Polly to coincide with her appearance on Dancing on Ice and an upcoming ITV2 spin-off with Davide.

The 19-year-old tennis star Emma Radacanu’s fairy-tale success at the 2021 US Open has propelled her earnings to £10m with brands understandably clamouring to strike partnerships with her following her historic success. It puts her ahead of medal-hoarding cyclist Laura Kenny (£5.2m) and HeptathleteKatarina Johnson-Thomspon (£4.5m). Unsurprisingly, the historic success of the England Women’s Football Team is also represented with Lionness Captain Lead Williamson (£4m) fourth among sportwomen.

Finally, Kylie Jenner remains the wealthiest star aged 30 or under outside the UK. The 24-year-old tops heat’s International Top 5, and with a huge £770m, it makes her the richest in the Kardashian/Jenner clan.
