After 10 years, Meek Mill has terminated his partnership and representation agreement with Roc Nation Management, the talent agency and media company created by Jay-Z in 2008. Early reports of the split were first detailed by Billboard yesterday and all indications including Roc Nation removing Meek Mill from the company’s website and social media pages point to a confirmation that the partnership has truly ended.

Meek Mill signed on with Roc Nation as management/representation in 2012 and also entered into a joint venture with the company in 2019 to house his Dreamchasers imprint.

It’s not absolutely clear if Meek will continue to work with Roc Nation in the label umbrella capacity going forward, especially given he has been publicly vocal on several occasions with his displeasure with parent company Atlantic Records, including accusing the label of attempting to “blackball” him due to a lack of support on his most recent album project, Expensive Pain as well as fracturing his working relationship with then emerging artist Roddy Ricch who has gone on to establish himself as one of the top names in hip-hop

They didn’t put nothing into Expensive Pain and then said I can’t drop another project for 9 months at the end of my contract after I made them 100’s of millions ….. how can anybody survive that … most rappers can’t speak because they depend on these companies, I don’t.

– Meek Mill speaking on Atlantic Records’ handling of his new album

So look I made Atlantic records 100’s of millions and let them rape me out out Roddy a artist they came to me about in jail.” He continued, adding, “Roddy my youngin still …. But that label separated us instantly when the millions came in from him… same thing they tried to do with me and Rozay … it takes a long time to catch up too because most of em tied in for the love of some money …artist scared to speak up.

Meek addressed the issue of his split with Roc Nation briefly in a tweet yesterday (link below), so while it appears he will maintain other existing business endeavors with Jay-Z and Roc, the nature and extent of how those arrangements will continue have not been disclosed in detail.
