Lah88 Unveils a New Bangin’ Pop/Alt Hip-Hop Single, “Stuck”

Lah88 is a recording artist from Maryland who is cut from a different cloth, as he brings a distinct flow meshing a core hip-hop delivery with a melodic style that invokes visions of pop and an R&B feel all into one presentation. Influenced by such music heavyweights as ASAP Rocky, XXX Tentacion, Play ThatBoiZay and Trippie Redd, Lah88 has sprinkled his unique formula and approach to his artistry all over his extensive catalog of music which includes a number of singles, a full-length 15-track album in 2021, LahLahLand and this year’s boommode 5-song EP Wave Runner which features standout tracks “Dually” and “All I Know“
Keeping the trend going upwards, Lah88 has followed up on the momentum of his previous recordings with the release of a new single titled “Stuck” which features his signature vocal gymnastics and stylings.
“Stuck” has a compelling production and soundscape that rings hints of indie pop and country western with a slow, wistful, yet gritty and rhythmic guitar riff that sets up the lead melody of the track throughout. Supported in the backdrop by a prominently laid-back chill hop type of drum track, the beat conveys the concept of the song perfectly as the tone of the instrumentation presents a mystique of someone being reflective or contemplating the past.
That’s exactly the vibe you get with “Stuck” as Lah88 melodically rap/sings a ballad of sorts lamenting a woman who’s left the relationship, a romance gone bad…..”I’m stuck on my own” he sadly reflects in the track’s catchy hook which he expresses masterfully with some crafty vocal inflections on the tail end. As I mentioned Lah88 drops a flow that’s a cross between a melodic rap and singing, staying on pitch and in character, he truly conveys the emotions of someone who’s tormented from a tumultuous breakup and conflicted.
