Indie-Funk BadCameo Are Cooking Up Their Sophomore Album Project Dropping in August

BadCameo is a dynamic trio out of Tampa, Florida, that exemplifies the essence of funk and its roots; however, the trifecta of music savants that compose the band also incorporates a marvelous blend of other genres into their sounds, such as R&B, jazz, pop, disco, and rock. The result is a wondrous enigma of sound that is intrinsically captivating and appealing on a wide-scale basis.
BadCameo consists of talented musicians Lando Pieroni (vocals, guitar), Geoff Weber (keyboard, bass, flute), and Dan Mead (drums), and their artistry is sparked by a collective mantra of “fuse whatever you got into this music .”The trio endearingly refers to their unique sound as Indie-Funk Fusion, and as mentioned above, it has flourished with a wide range of music listeners and garnered the attention of music industry pundits alike as the band has already embarked on three separate tours encompassing over sixty shows this year, plus earning a spot on the roster of the illustrious Gasparilla Music Festival.
Not to mention, BadCameo has amassed an extensive performance history dating back to its origins in North Carolina, and with over twenty shows upcoming this summer, the clamor for the vibrant, dance-laden sounds of BadCameo is soaring at a rapid rate. With this type of swelling momentum, there’s no better time to release a full-length album, and that’s exactly what Lando, Geoff, and Dan have in store as they are primed to drop a 10-song LP titled “Friday Night Time Warp .”It will be the band’s second album release and a follow-up to their 2020 effort BadCameo Out Loud which featured such standout songs as “Bad Situation” and the “Swamp Doctor.”
“Friday Night Time Warp” is primed to deliver that core funk sound that defines the quintessential BadCameo soundscape while injecting an eclectic blend of other styles and elements, as evidenced on two single releases this year from the upcoming project – a track fittingly titled “Funk Train” and the rhythmically swinging appeal of “Healin’.” If these two tracks are any indication, “Friday Night Time Warp” is in a position to set itself as a landmark release for the Tampa-based band.
