Spurred on by the success of his 2021 single, “So Hot,” featuring rap and global icon Snoop Dogg, Birmingham, Alabama-based rapper and recording artist Christopher The Grey is primed to continue the surging momentum that single provided with a new release titled “Oh My Damn!” via 3rd Child Records.
“Oh My Damn!” is a dazzling single from Christopher’s forthcoming album project called “The Departure,” and it boasts the signature magnetism and unique vocal delivery that Christopher has crafted throughout the course of his expanding catalog.
Christopher The Grey is the type of artist who unabashedly brings his true self to his recordings and his charismatic persona shines through as always on “Oh My Damn!” The track itself serves as somewhat of a celebration of Christopher’s uniqueness, and in turn, I believe the self-assuredness he exudes in his song intrinsically projects to the music listener themselves.
The dynamic artist sports a melodic type rap flow on the single, which he presents in a cool, slick fashion over the chill-hop, funky-sounding instrumentation. It reminds me of something similar to a retro West Coast style type beat as it also features a brooding bass line phrase and a catchy melody that will stick to your memory bank long after listening. I can’t put my finger on what type of instrument it is, but it really drives the easy-paced groove of “Oh My Damn!”
