Johan Davis is a DJ and producer on a mission! The dynamically talented recording artist sets out to tell a story with his musical creations…. each note and melody painting a vivid picture as they stroke the canvas of your mind. Johan aims for his music to invoke a variety of emotions in his listeners, however, of course, the primary focus is to make them move their bodies and dance; he’s surely achieved that thus far starting with his electropop/trop house breakout single last year “Summer Again” which has garnered almost a half million streams, including the EP follow up consisting of four bang-up remixes.
Building on that wave of momentum “Summer Again” has provided for his burgeoning career as a recording artist, Johan has graced the music world with another jamming electropop/trop house smash titled “My Obsession” featuring the sultry, smooth vocals of Italian-Maltese singer KEL Moncado who has established herself via a number of prominent international talent contests.
“My Obsession” is primed to be that “summer hit” that many artists strive for but just can’t quite hit the mark. In my songs, I always love to tell stories. I think that music and rhythm are very important in a House song, but it is also a good opportunity to talk to people, communicate something, or just tell stories that could be stories for any of us. In “My Obsession” I tell of a sad woman worn out by a toxic love. The woman will go to the bottom, but the use of pride and strength of her will help her to get up. It will not be easy because he will experience her unrequited love for her, as a real obsession from which to want to free oneself. She will try to hate the person who occupies her mind, but the more she tries to hate him, the more she will feel that she loves him and she will take pleasure in this obsession in the hope that something good will come to her.
