For all of your movie buffs out there, particularly fans of the comedy genre, Airplane! is a classic film loaded with hilarious one-liners and quotes. Canadian recording artist, JBT, out of Edmonton, is a huge fan of the film as well, even labeling it as one of his favorite comedy movies of all time. In fact, he enjoys Airplane! so much, it inspired him to write and produce a song about the legendary film, fittingly titled after the film’s main character and protagonist “Ted Striker”.
“Ted Striker” is a turnt up electropop smash with a resonating splash of hip-hop vibes via a beaming vocal performance by a talented friend that JBT enlisted to grace his production. Although the friend wished to remain anonymous, he exhibits his adept vocal prowess with a smooth, melodic type of rap flow. The vocals resonate across the funky electric bass line, riding along with a commanding presence as the bevy of synths, saws and oscillating melodies percolate through the vibrant soundscape…so hey! how does JBT tie this all into a movie comedy released over four decades ago?!?
Absolute brilliance, a creative songwriting masterstroke as it will leave you dazzled with the extremely clever lyricism. JBT makes references to the characters’ names and classic scenes from Airplane! and ties it all together into a cohesive song, literally almost re-telling the story of the movie in a musical fashion…. it’s a 10/10 on the wow factor scale, especially for someone like me, who’s seen the film and knows exactly what the lyrics are referring to so if you’ve ever checked out Airplane! you will get a blast out of “Ted Striker’.
And hey, even if you’ve never seen Airplane! it’s still easy to understand the comedic value of “Ted Striker”. Kudos go out to JBT in conveying the most memorable parts of the film into a blazing music piece and like I mentioned above, this is also a jamming song and composition that’s brimming over with energy.

Ain’t no question
It feels like striker aint
Learn his lesson
The in-flight meal
Get served out quick
But the crew and the passengers
They get sick
