Massachusetts based rapper Smyly Sickwitit brings the lyrical heat to any beat or track he touches and his ingenuity as an emcee has established him firmly amongst the top-rated rappers in the New England area, having garnered coverage in the Source Magazine’s “Spit Sixteen” segment.
Smyly continues to capitalize on the momentum he has built as he is primed to release a new full-length album in April titled Longevity. Today we’re going to spotlight his first single release off of the highly anticipated project, a certified banger titled “Lay Me Down to Sleep”. It sets up a majestic-like aura as his voice sharply cuts through the cinematic rolling piano which drives the melody of this track. The intrigue created by the piano phrase is taken up another notch with a hard pounding drum track in the backdrop which features a snare that crashes onto the soundscape.
