The silky, smooth vocals of 19-year-old sensation MarLeih will leave you stupefied as you take in her impeccable vocal delivery and gracefully commanding presence as a performer. The Las Vegas based recording artist brings an R&B and pop flavor to the table that is uniquely soulful with a retro undertone, yet still shines brightly with a contemporary flair.
MarLeih puts her extraordinary singing chops on full display with her latest and first release of 2022 titled “With U” where she exhibits the aforementioned soulful energy tenfold. “With U” is an exceptional follow up to her previously released track “2 Many” which is an equally spectacular song and composition. “With U” is a song that lyrically touches on longing for someone, desiring to be in their presence and near them, however, MarLeih masterfully conveys a downcast situation and portrays it in an up-tempo, lighthearted fashion which is the beautiful irony of this song.
MarLeih explains how the idea for the song and concept came about as she says, “I was sad about missing somebody I couldn’t see but was tired of writing sad songs, so I wrote an upbeat song about something I was sad about to lighten my mood.” She does a masterful job indeed as she presents the subject matter in a cleverly playful, flirtatious way almost, adding some levity to the situation.

Her mezzo-soprano stylings flow ever so wonderfully across the neo-soul, jazz infused bass line and rhythm, with an intoxicating keyboard phrase, draped with an assortment of ambiently designed melodies and instrumentation. Her vocal presentation is exquisite as she flips the cadence and tone of her inflections at will seamlessly.
