Cleveland based rapper, songwriter and producer Jameel Patrick has built a substantial catalog of music over the course of his professional recording career. The gifted creative has crafted a signature brand of music which is faith inspired and as such, his intent is to inspire others by way of his musical gifts and talents.

Jameel steadfastly continues the course of what sparks his creativity with the release of his latest single titled “Better Tomorrow”, which is a profound song and composition that conveys a motivational, thought-provoking lyricism that many people can identify with. It’s gripping in its genuineness and displays Jameel’s adept songwriting skill set.

Jameel explains the extremely personal events in his life which compelled him to write “Better Tomorrow”, “On December 20, 2021, my father passed away. My former student and friend passed away on December 20 in 2017 and my mother on December 20, 2002. I got sick on Christmas eve and tested positive for covid days later. During this time, I noticed that so many others were also going through hard times, too many to name on here. So, while quarantined, I wrote this song. It’s about being sorrowful in the present, hopeful for the future and quick random thoughts that I was feeling at the time”.

“Better Tomorrow” successfully delves into all these touchpoints and Jameel delivers a heartfelt vocal performance which portrays the essence of these lyrics at their core. His engaging and melodic rap flow glides over the rhythmic instrumentation seamlessly, all the while commanding your attention.

Open your eyes and you’ll find everything’s not what it seems,

What you constantly think is what you’ll bring to the scene

If you say everything will eventually be ok, it will be so

If you constantly think death, negativity will flow

From the time we rise to the time we lay at night

There’s a vision in sight that tomorrow things will be alright

Excerpt from “Better Tomorrow”: Jameel Patrick

The tone and vibe of “Better Tomorrow” is reflective and pensive at its base; driven by a soulful guitar phrase and overall retro soundscape reminiscent of the R&B/soul classics of the 70’s. The infusion of a harmonic group of angelic, ambient sounding voices in the background give an added dimension of appeal to the song and further contribute to the nostalgic feel of it.
