Tyler, the Creator has achieved the second No. 1 album of his career, with Call Me If You Get Lost debuting at the top spot on the Billboard 200.
The 30-year old rapper, whose real name is Tyler Okonma, notched his first No. 1 LP in 2019 with Igor .
Call Me If You Get Lost knocked off Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour, which had held a grip on the number one spot for two weeks.
Tyler released Call Me If You Get Lost at the end of June and it recorded an equivalent of 169,000 U.S. sales in its opening week.
According to Billboard’s tracking source, MRC Data, the equivalent sales consisted of 153 million streams and 55,000 copies sold as a package.
Billboard estimates that 40,000 physical copies of the album were sold on CD and 10,000 on cassette.
In addition, 5,000 units were purchased as digital downloads.
The new album’s momentum has been buoyed by its robust streaming performance in the early going.
Call Me If You Get Lost claimed seven of the top 10 spots on the U.S. Spotify chart as of last Friday.
The album’s number one Billboard debut has capped off a flurry of activity for Tyler since its release.
His livestream performance celebrating the album’s release at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn is now archived on YouTube.
The show was presented by Rotation, the global hip-hop and R&B brand of Amazon Music.
