Authorities in Cook County, Illinois have confirmed that Lil Durk’s older brother, OTF DThang (real name, Dontay Banks, Jr.) was shot and killed Saturday night outside of Club O in Harvey, Illinois, a small city 30 minutes south of Chicago.
The murder of OTF DThang occured just days removed from Lil Durk celebrating the release of his joint project with Lil Baby, Voice of Heroes.
At the moment, there has not been many other details released about the incident.
However, HipHop DX reported, “Witnesses at the scene say he was struck in the head and died instantly, although further details surrounding the incident are scarce.” according to the media outlet.
Initial reports of OTF DThang’s death began circulating on social media earlier today as urban news platform, Chicago MediaTakeout, shared a post picturing Lil Durk and his brother with the caption, “Lil Durk’s Brother Has Been Killed.”
The tragic news has spurred on a flood of grief and condolences to Lil Durk and the OTF family for social media users and those in the music industry.
OTF DThang was also a musician.
