Fidelis Makes a Splash with Debut Release “Want This”
Music industry take notice. Fidelis has arrived!
Nigerian born, London raised recording artist Fidelis has released his debut single titled “Want This”.
“Want This” is a soulful ballad which tells an inspirational story of pushing forward in the face of adversity.
It’s a song inspired by Fidelis’ personal struggles not only as an artist but also as a person trying to figure things out in the normal course of life.
“Want This” describes the struggles that are familiar to anyone who is striving to achieve their dreams even when the challenges appear overwhelming.
Fidelis’ silky vocals take the listener on a journey through his innermost thoughts and his vocal expression captures the essence of the song’s concept.
The outstanding production expertly places an angelic reverb on his voice backed by a soothing guitar track.
The song’s powerful message touches on a question that many motivational speakers and life coaches pose to their audience. “What is your why?!?” Fidelis captures this brilliantly in the chorus as he reflects:
But then I remember, why I still want this
Yeah I remember, why I still want this
I still remember, why I still I want this
Yeah I remember, why I still want this
Chorus Excerpt of “Want This” – Fidelis
Early Beginnings
Fidelis began his journey in music as a 9 year-old writing lyrics. As his interest in music developed from these early stages, Fidelis would proceed to hone his craft as a musician by taking guitar and vocal lessons.
His unique blend of pop and soul elements in his music stylings can be attributed to some of his influences.
He lists such American luminaries in music as Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone and Tracy Chapman as extremely influential in his musical development. British pop stars Ed Sheeran and Olly Murs also played an important role in shaping his sound.
Fidelis’ Why?
Fidelis uses music as a means to explore the world and his own mind. These means are guided by his own experiences, heritage, and reflections.
The talented artist states, “For me, music has always been about passing on a message. Creating a space for anyone who listens to my music to feel somewhat easy, warmer, and to feel the less-cold sides of this world we are living in.
I try to make music that makes people feel that. It’s very relatable. It helps people feel better about what they are going through. And it tells them that there are other people like them out there and they aren’t alone.”
What’s Next?
Fidelis has emerged on the music scene with an impactful first release and is set to follow it up with more singles and an EP during the first half of 2021.
We’re looking forward to his continued success and progression in the music industry. Fidelis has indeed arrived!
